Compliance and Data Protection
The trust placed in us by our clients requires clear standards of conduct, effective controls and responsible handling of information.
Integrity Programme
The firm maintains a structured integrity programme, binding on partners, lawyers, trainees, administrative staff and third parties acting on its behalf. It sets out conduct principles, regulates engagement with public authorities, establishes objective limits on gifts and hospitality, governs the handling of conflicts of interest and provides for disciplinary measures proportionate to the seriousness of each breach.
Our stance on corruption, bribery and influence peddling is one of zero tolerance, in line with Federal Law 12,846/2013 and Decree 11,129/2022. Every institutional interaction with authorities and public bodies requires prior authorisation and is placed on record, because engaging with the State is a technical exercise of the legal profession and demands traceability.
Personal data protection
Personal data is processed in accordance with Federal Law 13,709/2018, the Brazilian General Data Protection Law. The firm operates a governance programme that defines roles, responsibilities, technical controls and administrative measures, with its own Privacy Committee and a formally appointed Data Protection Officer.
Data is mapped by data subject, category, purpose and related legal activity, and is monitored throughout its lifecycle, from collection to disposal. Access is controlled through functional profiles, with operation logs and classification at three levels of sensitivity. Incidents follow a dedicated protocol of containment, assessment, recording and notification to the data subject and to the national data protection authority where applicable.
Professional secrecy
Confidentiality is a core obligation of the legal profession and precedes any regulatory requirement. Documents, communications and information received through the client relationship are subject to access and storage controls appropriate to their sensitivity, and the commitment is formalised in contractual clauses and a confidentiality undertaking signed by everyone at the firm.
